House removals are the biggest part of what we do in Erith, and the houses here are more varied than the postcode suggests. A Victorian terrace off Bexley Road and a 1960s semi on the Heath are not the same job, and a quote that treats them the same is guessing at one of them.

Every quote covers the vehicle and crew for the day, protective blankets and covers for the furniture, protection on door frames and floors where it is needed, and the dismantling and rebuilding of beds, wardrobes and tables that will not go through a door in one piece. Packing — as much or as little as you want
Some households want everything done: crews arrive, the house is boxed, you walk out. Others pack the books, the kids' rooms and the shed themselves and leave us the kitchen, the pictures and the wardrobes. Both work. What we will not do is quietly assume one and deliver the other, so the quote names the rooms we are packing.
Fragile things get the right materials rather than more newspaper — cell partitions for glass, picture cartons for framed work, proper cartons for lampshades and mirrors. Cartons you pack yourself travel fine, but they sit differently in the insurance, and we will say so rather than leave it in the small print.
Erith access, honestly
The terraced streets near the town centre have no driveways and fill up with resident parking early. We start early and keep the vehicle moving. Where a bay genuinely needs suspending, the council usually wants the application from the occupier — we will tell you if yours is one of those.
On the estates the parking is easier but the carry from the road can be long, and long carries cost time. Out at Slade Green and towards the marshes there are properties where the approach road is narrow enough that we will look before committing a full-size vehicle to it.
Moving out of the borough

What is included in a house removal?
The vehicle, the crew, blankets and covers, door-frame and floor protection, and taking apart and rebuilding the furniture that needs it. Packing is quoted separately because plenty of people want to do some of it themselves.
Do I need a survey?
On anything above a one-bed, it is worth twenty minutes. It is free, it fixes the volume, and it means the vehicle that arrives is the right one. Video is fine if you have already moved out.
Will one van do the whole house?
A three-bed on the Barnehurst side with a driveway, usually yes. The same contents out of a terrace with no parking may need two runs. The survey settles it rather than the day settling it for us.
Is the loft coming?
Ask yourself that before you ask us. Lofts and garages are where quotes go wrong — they hold more than anyone remembers and they are slow to empty. Tell us and we will price it properly.
What do you need from me on the day?
